Wird Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 20, 2026 — applies to the Wird Chrome extension.

Short version: Wird stores your extension settings and reading progress so it can show a Qur'an reading prompt before distracting websites. We do not sell data, show ads, track you across the web, or send your personal browsing history to Athar.

Single purpose

Wird helps users pause before opening configured distracting websites and read a small Qur'an portion first. The extension uses data only for this purpose: showing the read-to-continue prompt, saving progress, and respecting the user's reminder settings.

Data stored by the extension

Wird may store the following information in Chrome extension storage on your device, and when Chrome sync is available, in your browser's synced extension storage:

  • Extension settings, such as language, theme, reading amount, zoom level, and enabled watched sites.
  • Watched-site match settings and prompt state, so the extension knows when to show or skip the overlay.
  • Qur'an reading progress, daily surah targets, completion counts, streak-related timestamps, and reading statistics.
  • Temporary cooldown state when you choose to continue without reading because you cannot read at that moment.

Chrome Web Store data categories

For Chrome Web Store disclosure purposes, Wird may involve:

  • Web history: only the URLs or match state needed to detect user-configured watched websites. Wird does not collect a full browsing history.
  • User activity: extension activity such as reading progress, prompt completion, and user settings inside Wird.

Wird does not collect personally identifiable information, health information, financial or payment information, authentication information, personal communications, location, or website content.

What leaves your device

Athar does not receive, sell, rent, or share your Wird settings, progress, watched-site list, or browsing activity. The extension loads Qur'an page images from configured image providers or CDNs, so those providers may receive ordinary network request information such as your IP address, browser user agent, and the requested image URL.

No remote code

Wird does not run JavaScript, WebAssembly, or stylesheets from a remote server. The extension code is packaged with the Chrome extension. Remote Qur'an page images are media assets, not executable code.

No ads or tracking

Wird has no advertising, no advertising identifiers, no tracking pixels, and no analytics SDKs. We do not use or transfer user data for unrelated purposes, creditworthiness, lending, or marketing.

Your control

You can change watched sites, reading settings, daily targets, and progress from the extension's options. You can remove locally stored extension data by clearing the extension's storage in Chrome or uninstalling the extension.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will update this page and revise the date above.
